Kryolan’s Glamour Sparks in Blue Spark Review and Swatches!

Kryolan HeartThey had me at sparkle!

I’ve finally taken the plunge and tried my first product from Kryolan. Kryolan is a company who’s name is synonymous with theatrical makeup so of course my expectations were dramatically high!

Their Glamour Sparks eye glitter had some bumps along the road but I was ultimately not disappointed by the iridescent glitter!

Read more to find out my experience and pictures of Blue Spark!

Glamour Sparks

Kryolan Heart Glamour SparksGlamour Sparks is described as “an exceptional, metal-free high-lustre powder conjures up iridescent-light and sparkling effects on the skin.” It comes in eight colors Silver, Blue, Green, Noble, Copper, Golden, Red, and Aqua.

The glitter is true to it’s description! It’s a finely milled glitter that is not at all gritty or harsh. The texture is quite similar to most mineral based eyeshadows which is surprising for a glitter!

Kryolan Heart Glamour Sparks ContainerI also think think the package is work remarking on! Rather than having the standard open tub of glitter that tends to spill Kryolan has created a cap with a much smaller hole on top. The smaller hole goes a long way toward preventing spilling but is large enough to fit a normal eyeshadow brush in. The sides are also great for tapping off excess.

Blue Spark

Kryolan SwatchI was crazy impressed with the iridescent light reflecting properties of the Blue Spark color. It’s almost a subtle white in dimmer light and just flashes of blue where the light catches the pieces of glitter. In the swatch to the left you see the top is much more subtle. The shadow is applied evenly but it’s showing the diffrence between the lighting catching it or not. Kryolan definitely pulled off iridescence properly!

I loved the texture it’s almost creamy compared to a normal glitter. The application is great, it glides on like a normal shadow with no fighting for the even distribution of the glitter. Like most glitters however,  it doesn’t adhere easily on its own. I recommend using a cosmetics glitter glue. I also had great success with a creamy shadow primer!

The look

I did a quickie look for the shadow.

I started by applying the Starlooks I-Primer from the September Starlooks Box Review all over the lid.

I then lightly applied a cornflower blue shadow in the crease with just a pop of white in the inner corner. Both colors are from the BH 120 palette 2nd Edition.

I followed with a Nyx Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Glam Azure on the top lash and a white Milani Shadow Eyez in White on the bottom waterline.

The thing that really made the whole look of course was the Kryolan Glamour Sparks in Blue Spark applied heavily to the whole lid and under the bottom lashes!
